Teach for Splash

Brandeis Education for Students by Students (ESS) was created by Brandeis Students in 2013 so we could foster a love for learning in the Brandeis community and surrounding community. We launched out pilot event, Deistalks, on March 14th, 2013 and hosted our first Splash! on April 27th, 2013.

Splash! began through MIT's Educational Studies Program (ESP) in 1957 so that they could make a difference in the Boston, Cambridge, and MIT communities by sharing their knowledge and creativity with local local high school students. Since then, MIT's program has grown to support over three thousand students each year.

Brandeis ESS is inspired by MIT's ESP with the target audience of Waltham and the surrounding area. Through an extensive offering of academic and unconventional classes, ESS desires to provide the same unique educational experience to all students for free. ESS courses are developed and taught by all members of the Brandeis community: students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
