Brief Biographical Sketch:

I grew up in a military family, but have lived most of my life in southern California. I had learning difficulties early on before I was diagnosed deaf in both ears at the age of four. Although my hearing was surgically corrected, I still had difficulty in school. I required a speech therapist for two years and my reading comprehension still suffered long afterwards. With familial and teacher encouragement I rose to the top 4% of my high school graduating class and my days of intense struggle were long gone. Now I attend Brandeis University and I am studying to become a History and English teacher. The point is not to brag, but to remind you anything is possible!
