Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hello! My name is Daniel Shin and I recently completed a BS in neuroscience, biology & psychology with a minor in chemistry in 2018 and a MA in Teaching Secondary Education in 2019, both at Brandeis. Currently I work in the VanHooser Neuroscience Lab at Brandeis where we study the development of visual systems in ferrets! During college I worked 3 years as a Head Residential Adviser for 1st year students. During grad school I taught 1 year of chemistry and biology at Framingham High School. I hope to become a professor one day, but we'll see what happens! In my spare time I love watching anime, playing trombone in the Brandeis Jazz Band, going on runs, listening to kpop, and drinking boba tea~

However, dating can also be confusing, heart-breaking and unfortunately, abusive. In this course, we will have a condensed-milk format of discussing perspectives, tips and resources for folks wanting to date, folks already dating and folks coming out of a relationship.

S270: Does Your Brain Dream? Or Do You Dream? in Splash Fall 2019 (Nov. 16, 2019)
Neuroscience is the study of the brain. But anyways, what on earth are our brains doing when we sleep? Are they going through the events of the day, are they "deleting" unnecessary files or are they doing nothing? In this course we will learn basic properties of neurons and discuss the neurological significance of dreaming and sleeping.
