Are you an avid poetry lover, or have always wanted to learn more about poetry? Have you had minimal exposure to different kinds of poetry in High School? We will read two to three poems by world renowned poets, such as Maya Angelou, Eve Ensler, and Langston Hughes. Together, we will explore the themes of each piece that are relevant to our twenty first century culture, including discussions on feminism, human rights, and identity. You will also get the chance to use your artistic abilities by collaborating with other students on a final mural, showcasing what you have learned and enjoyed. Candy will also be provided!
