M227: Blockchain + Space Doggos! in Splash Spring 2019 (Feb. 02, 2019)
We will begin with a short introduction to Blockchain technology, the theory that underlies it and how it will transform our economies and societies!~ Following this we will have a tutorial on writing a decentralized App (dApp) in Solidity on the Ethereum Blockchain using BitDegrees Space Doggos program. Note: Bring your laptop, or prepare to look on with a friend, as practicing to code yourself will be the majority of the session.

O199: Introduction to Econometrics with R in Splash Fall 2017 (Nov. 11, 2017)
We will cover the most basic form of Regression Analysis, called Linear Regression. We will present the theory behind this and how to implement it in R. We will consider two datasets: S&P-500 data from the NYSE (to examine Time-series data) and wage data (to examine Cross sectional data). The goals is by the end you will have some knowledge of how to use R, enough knowledge to make your own models and run tests on said models.

M156: An Introduction to Set Theory and Functions in Splash Fall '16 (Nov. 12, 2016)
Unsatisfied with the input-output definition of the function you learned in Algebra? In this class we'll give a more rigorous definition. We'll begin with introducing the core notation used in Set Theory (e.g. $$ \in, \subset, \cup, \cap $$, and look at examples of sets using this notation. From this we will define a Correspondence (a Relation), and see that a function is a special case of a correspondence. If we have time we'll look at multi-variable functions or take questions, whichever the class prefers.
